Welcome to Chimaera Serials!

We are a site dedicated to the art and enjoyment of speculative fiction. We are currently seeking well written, entertaining stories that fit into one of the following categories: fantasy, adventure, dark fantasy, horror, or anything else of a speculative nature. We are seeking unique and well thought out stories with a level of sophistication appropriate for adult readers. Thrill us, and make us think!

We are also looking for nonfiction articles or movie/book reviews that fit into or are about the above categories. We are also looking for artwork in the same themes!

All pieces should be original and preferably unpublished, although we will consider reprints. Please let us know in advance if this is the case with your piece. We will also accept simultaneous submissions, however please notify us upon submission if you are simultaneously submitting the work. Please send polished pieces only. We reserve the right to request edits and we do not pay a kill fee.

To submit your work for consideration please send it to . Submissions that are pasted into the body of an email are acceptable, as are .doc, .rtf or .txt attachments. Feel free to submit more that one piece of writing. Please do not send query letters.

Please include the following: The full short story, review, article, or poem, the complete piece of artwork, or the first three chapters of the serial story. For a serial, please also include a summary of the story as well as an outline of the complete story.

Please also include a short bio including your name (or pen name), the state (or country) where you reside, and any additional information you would like to include. Please remember this is a short bio.

As of 10/1/06 we offer payment! We will pay $10.00 for poetry submissions and reviews, $20.00 for short stories, artwork and articles, and $50.00 for novel or novella length fiction.

We will notify you as soon as possible whether or not we will use your story. Please do not email us for status.

Hints:
While we are not squemish about violence or gore when appropriate, we are not interested in simple blood and gut stories.

Further, we absolutely love a great fantasy yarn, but please avoid the overly done fantasy cliche's. If the story is simply a regurgitation of a fantasy great (Lord Of The Rings, for example), we are not interested. If you have a fresh take on an old theme however, send it in!
